點心相

今日飲茶, 看點心紙的介紹, 某點心於照片上有六粒, 實質上枱只有四粒. 本來司空見慣的常情, 不必深究, 不過大姨意稍不平, 喚了部長過來理論幾句. 部長照例理直氣壯, 以照片純屬參考為由推脫. 我插科打渾, 戲言一句: 日後會否只得兩粒? 部長馬上耍手擰頭, 低聲說那又不會(如此過分), 價錢不同嘛.

如何才算過分? 箇中嚴寬的準繩, 所謂不成文的遊戲規則, 正是世道民風的指標.

進餐

讀李漁《無聲戲》卷八「受人欺無心落局, 連鬼騙有故傾家」一節, 當中有謂:

小山 道: 二兄快請過來, 要用酒就用酒, 要用飯就用飯, 這個所在是斯文不得的.

想起某公司的廁所廁格門上有句標語, 方便之時舉頭即見, 每次看到都不禁莞爾. 該標語呼籲大家要顧全衛生, 為他人設想:

用後請沖廁.

便後沖廁即可, 用就不必了.

Speaking without knowledge?
2 Who is this who darkens counsel,
3. Gird your loins like a man;
I will ask and you will inform Me.
4. Where were you when I laid the earth's foundations?
Speak if you have understanding.
5. Do you know who fixed its dimensions
Or who measured it with a line?

這是誰，竟敢塗黑我的旨意，滿口無知妄言？
你束緊腰，學學戰士，我倒要問問你，討你的答案。
我給大地奠基的時候，你在哪裏？說吧，既然你那麼聰明！
是誰規定了它的尺度，你可知道？是誰拉直的準繩？


6 Onto what were its bases sunk?
Who set its cornerstone
7 When the morning stars sang together
And all the divine beings shouted for joy?

地柱立於何處，基石由誰安放，
當一顆顆晨星齊聲歌唱，神子們縱情歡呼？


8 Who closed the sea behind doors
When it gushed forth out of the womb,
9 When I clothed it in clouds,
Swaddled it in dense clouds,
10 When I made breakers My limit for it,
And set up its bar and doors,

當大海噴湧，如出母胎，是誰造門將它關起？
又是誰以霧靄給它為衣，用黑雲縫它的襁褓，
替它劃定疆界，安上大門，插好門閂，說：
到此為止，不得逾越-----這裡/你驕傲的浪濤必須停息！


12 Have you ever commanded the day to break,
Assigned the dawn its place,
13 So that it seizes the corners of the earth
And shakes the wicked out of it?
14 It changes like clay under the seal
Till [its hues] are fixed like those of a garment.
15 Their light is withheld from the wicked,
And the upraised arm is broken.

你有生之日，可曾對晨曦下令，抑或為曙光指派崗位，
讓它抓住大地的四角，將惡人通通抖出？
看，大地染紅，像封泥銜印，萬物如著錦衣；
造孽的人留不住光明，折了高舉的手臂。


16 Have you penetrated to the sources of the sea,
Or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17 Have the gates of death been disclosed to you?
Have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
18 Have you surveyed the expanses of the earth?
If you know of these --- tell Me.

你可曾下到海洋的泉眼，在深淵的盡頭漫遊？
抑或死亡之門曾為你打開，你見過死影的門衛？
還有，大地的幅員你能丈量？告訴我，這些你都曉得！


19 Which path leads to where light dwells,
And where is the place of darkness,
20 That you may take it to its domain
And know the way to its home?
21 Surely you know, for you were born then,
And the number of your years is many!

光明的住所從哪一條路去，黑暗又居於何方-----
你知道它們各自的疆域，會擇路送它們回家？
你當然知道了-----因為那時/你已經出生，算來歲數正好！


22 Have you penetrated the vaults of snow,
Seen the vaults of hail,
23 Which I have put aside for a time of adversity,
For a day of war and battle?

你可曾探訪大雪的庫房，是否查看過雹倉？
那是我專為降災之時，為兵燹之日所預備。


24 By what path is the west wind dispersed,
The east wind scattered over the earth?
25 Who cut a channel for the torrents
And a path for the thunderstorms,
26 To rain down on uninhabited land,
On the wilderness where no man is,
27 To saturate the desolate wasteland,
And make the crop of grass sprout forth?

岔口的電光，走甚麼方向，東風又如何吹遍大地？
是誰，給漫天洪流開渠，為閃電與雷霆指路，
令新霈落在荒野，渺無人烟的大漠，
讓乾涸的廢墟解渴，生發嫩草如茵？


28 Does the rain have a father?
Who begot the dewdrops?
29 From whose belly came forth the ice?
Who gave birth to the frost of heaven?
30 Water congeals like stone,
And the surface of the deep compacts.

雨，有沒有父親，誰孕育的露珠？
冰，又是哪家的胎兒，誰誕下的天霜-----
當波濤凝凍，宛若白石，深淵一片冰淩？


31 Can you tie cords to Pleiades
Or undo the reins of Orion?
32 Can you lead out Mazzaroth in its season,
Conduct the Bear with her sons?

莫非你能給駝星套上繮繩，替蠢人(星)解開紐結？
抑或使金星按時升起，引導群獅（星）-----獅母連同獅崽？


33 Do you know the laws of heaven
Or impose its authority on earth?
34 Can you send up an order to the clouds
For an abundance of water to cover you?
35 Can you dispatch the lightning on a mission
And have it answer you, "I am ready"?

難道你掌握了諸天的法則，可用於管制大地？
抑或傳令雲端，召大雨傾盆澆身？
難道閃電也要奉伙的指示，還回你一聲，得令！


36 Who put wisdom in the hidden parts?
Who gave understanding to the mind?
37 Who is wise enough to give an account of the heavens?
Who can tilt the bottles of the sky,
38 Whereupon the earth melts into a mass,
And its clods stick together.

是誰，將智慧賦予朱鷺（月神），把聰敏賜給雄雞？
誰有本事，可點數浮雲？天上的水囊，又歸誰傾倒，
誰塵土化為爛泥，乾地合攏裂隙？


39 Can you hunt prey for the lion,
And satisfy the appetite of the king of beasts?
40 They crouch in their dens,
Lie in ambush in their lairs.
41 Who provides food for the raven
When his young cry out to God
And wander about without food?

莫非你能為母獅獵取食物，
當他們蜷臥洞中/或在樹叢下埋伏？
又是誰，養活了烏鴉-----他雛兒一聲聲啼喚上帝，引頸求食？
