Propaganda(宣傳)一詞很貼切地形式基督教面對世俗的回應，用Wikipedia的定義是"a specific type of message presentation directly aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of people, rather than impartially providing information."換言之，宗教上的「宣傳」用意根本不在提供世俗價值觀的另類選擇(alternative)，不會關心對話的重要性，也根本不會用心聆聽別人的想法，卻是「別有用心」地要影響人的思想、行為。
